Hidden Haven at the Reservoir
A lovely home on the edge of Liberty Reservoir is currently being revamped by Live Green’s experienced residential team. The renovation involves demos, plantings, patios, walkways, and a fire pit with a seating wall.
After removing unwanted plant material, we had a fresh canvas to landscape. Our friends at Tree Link Tree Movers helped us move a gorgeous crape myrtle that had obstructed the garage space to the driveway entrance, reestablishing the tree as a focal point at the entrance of the property. We laid a 1700 sq. ft. grouted bluestone patio with a walkway to the porch. The front steps were constructed using CMU blocks with a brick veneer, and matching bluestone treads. We installed almost 100 low-voltage lighting fixtures to illuminate the yard, including a Wi-Fi Smart Socket to control them with ease.
To create the green space that the homeowner envisioned, we restored the lawn. This involved grading the soil and installing 10,000 sq. ft. of seed that we fertilized and covered with straw to establish grass. In front of the home, Live Green planted hundreds of low-maintenance bushes and perennials, including a gorgeous Hinoki Cypress taking the center stage, English Lavender as a timeless favorite with its fragrant flowers along the walkway, the dainty flowers of the Geranium ‘Rozanne’ which will bloom for much of the year, creating attractive groundcover; and mounds of Evercolor Carex to add some graceful texture.
The bluestone walkway continues into the backyard, leading to the 300 sq. ft. circular fire pit patio. With a Nicolock Belvedere seat wall wrapped around it. The fire pit has a natural bluestone finish and is bordered by some privacy shrubs and perennials for a cozy and intimate ambiance that blends into the surrounding landscape perfectly.
It’s now time for this family to get cozy by the fire on their new patio and roast some marshmallows!
